AROC Online Data Dictionary
Introduction to AROC Data Dictionary
AROC collects and reports on data from the rehabilitation sector. To do this effectively, data must be collected reliably and consistently. To that end, the AROC Data Dictionary for the Inpatient and Ambulatory Clinical Data Set have been developed. This version should be considered a draft document, a work in progress, and AROC would appreciate feedback on its usefulness and any suggestions for enhancements.
In developing the AROC Data Dictionary there has been an attempt to streamline the data elements, definitions and naming conventions used for the Australian and the New Zealand AROC Inpatient Clinical Datasets and the AROC Ambulatory Clinical Dataset. For this reason some of the names and text definitions familiar to data users may be slightly altered. However, the meaning and values of the data elements have not changed as a result of this streamlining process.
Currently the AROC Data Dictionary provides information about all data items in each AROC data set. The next release of the Data Dictionary will also include definitions and guidelines around data items derived from the AROC data sets and used in benchmark reports.
